Four colts and one filly offered by Big Park at the 2012 Tasmanian Premier Yearling Sale sold to local purchasers. Lot 3 a smart colt by Jr Mint out of Annbolyn sold to P Geard for $5750, this young colt is bred on the same lines as Royal Sniper so we will watch with interest his development in the coming years. Lot 8 an outstanding colt by first year sire Major in Art out of the well bred mare Seduce sold for $9,000 to local investor Warren Viney from Spreyton, who also purchased Lot 31 the beautiful black/brown filly by another first year sire, Tiz a Masterpiece out of the producing mare El Jays Belle for $3,000. The Courage Under Fire colt, Lot 14, out of Superior Stature was knocked down for $8,000 to J Kirby and Lot 20 the upstanding colt by Tiz A Masterpiece out of Hawkette went to Ben Yole for $2,750. Although the prices weren't quite as we had hoped we are pleased to see the yearlings go and have the opportunity to be tried and hopefully get to the races and with the great Tasracing bonus schemes the owners and ourselves have the chance to pick up some of the bonuses. We wish all the purchasers every success with the horses and we will follow them with great interest. The second filly we had entered for the sale unfortunately couldn't be floated sale day, however she is still for sale!
