Big Park White Suffolks - Founded 2003
Our stud was founded with the purchase of 10 ewes in lamb, and in late 2003 a further 10 ewes were purchased along with sire Millswyn 02/91, all from Millswyn stud in Katandra, Victoria.
Also purchased were 52 ewes from Serendip stud at Glengarry. In April 2004, we landed in Tasmania 24 ewes in lamb, some by AI and some joined naturally prior to leaving their stud of birth, Ashmore at Walseys, SA. Our mainland purchases were from studs with long Lambplan history and commercially orientated, and it has allowed us to make rapid advances in our genetics.
We were originally breeding prime lambs and were so impressed with the results of the White Suffolk rams we had used, that we decided to concentrate on breeding White Suffolk rams, as we believe they will continue their growth in market share in the terminal sire industry.
Elders will conduct our 4th on property ram sale on Thursday 6th November, 2008 with an offering of 40 rams, all with great lambplan figures and some by Superwhite sires.
